“a life changing experience” at Redemption Group Immersion

One pastor’s report after the March 2010 Redemption Group Immersion

The Immersion was a life changing experience for most of the men in my group. Lifelong patterns of hurt, pain, sin and unbelief were uncovered and addressed with the truth of the gospel of Jesus. New defining truths were on the lips of these men as they left the Immersion. It was amazing to see what the Spirit did in the lives of men who were open to being transformed by his grace.

“I struggle with being alone and single after my divorce”

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

Another story from a woman who encountered God in a Redemption Group…

I originally came to the Redemption Groups because I struggle with being alone and single after my divorce. I had hoped that I would be remarried by now, but am not. As I went through a Redemption Group, I realized that my idols were relationships: a husband, the perfect family, fabulous friends—hoping all these things could bring me joy and utter happiness.

I now see how only Jesus can truly offer that. But in seeing that idol in my life, I also could see where I caused pain in my marriage by placing that burden on my spouse to be my “savior”. There are areas of my marriage and divorce that are painful, and there are areas that I am ashamed at how I acted or what I said. But I now see that more clearly through Jesus eyes and how he would want me to be in a marriage—it’s understanding that I didn’t have before.

Redemption Groups helped me to see that and have helped me to give this area of my life to Christ to redeem. He continues to heal the pain, take the shame away and call me to Him. And I am so thankful for that!
